Big Plan is owned by 5 Big Person Sdn Bhd, a private limited company incorporated in Malaysia. It is founded by Ronald Liao in 2020 as a startup company and he will be leading the executive team as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

As a CFA charter holder as well as a CFP ^{CERT TM} professional, Ronald Liao has acquired vast knowledges in corporate budgeting, cash flow projection, accounting, and financing. He started his career as a paid company dealer with OSK Securities Berhad after graduating from University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 1998. He went on to work in HSBC Securities Services (Ireland) Limited in 2008 as a fund administrator for the global fund manager during which the global financial crisis strikes. During the time, he witnessed the damages brought upon by the financial crisis and sparked him to start Big Plan to promote personal financial planning to the public. With 8 successful years building cash flow and a vision of a world full of responsible adults, he formalized a rule-based application to solve the differences human nature has towards money. The financial tools needed to know your numbers, be ahead of the curve and out of poverty.
